Introducing Extended PDB IDs at RCSB PDB
Search, view, and download all PDB structures using their extended PDB ID.
wwPDB anticipates that all four-character PDB IDs will be exhausted by 2028, after which only 12-character PDB IDs will be issued.

First post here- Hello Bluesky!
Quick science query: These 2D classes are from negative stain of
a FLAG pulldown (HEK cell eluate). Does this look like a real complex or a common contaminant? Would live to hear from anyone who’s worked on similar prep!

Was thinking about RELION5's new coordinate system and came to a realization... Was the switch to a centered coordinate system done to make sure that the coordinates of a particle are applicable to reconstructed tomograms of any size? #teamtomo

For the #ML and #CryoET folks out there:

Are folks on here submitting to the CZII CryoET Object Identification competition: www.kaggle.com/competitions... ?

The leaderboard is really interesting, and the forums are full of insights.

How many of the latest picking models have been submitted?

The underlying theory (in Fourier space) isn't too far away from that of crystallography. Hopefully the #relion tutorial and the #cryoEM video lectures at @mrclmb.bsky.social's YouTube channel will help too. 🤗
3 hours for an experienced electron microscopist to teach experienced crystallographers how to use RELION... this should be a wild ride!

To open cryoSPARC all I have to do is type “cry” into the search bar and it comes up. Feels about right. #cryoEM

Some #cryoEM people: The cup can only ever be 2/3 full!
Optimist: The cup is half full
Pessimist: The cup is half empty
Referee 1: Yeah, cups are fine, but can you do it with jars, mugs & glasses?
Referee 2: You need to cite these 12 papers showing how to fill things (all ref. 2’s papers)
Referee 3: You misspelled ‘container’ on page 6
Optimist: The cup is half full.
Pessimist: The cup is half empty.
Chemist: Why are we using Imperial measurements instead of metric?
