Please make sure every military member you know knows this.
Trump’s promise Wednesday to pay troops a “warrior dividend” bonus is actually a military housing stipend already approved by Congress, and not a generous new White House program.
Trump claims credit for military bonus that Congress already approved
The White House’s plans for a “warrior dividend” to reward troops this holiday season are actually housing assistance funds approved this summer.

Muting a Black woman to claim the vote was unanimous is so incredibly on the nose
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.

While the media chums it up with Greene, reminder that she has a bill going before the House today to make it a *federal crime* to provide or advocate for healthcare for trans youth.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "What I'd like to see from the president is empathy for Americans. Donald Trump is a billionaire and he's the president. When he looks into a camera and says 'affordability is a hoax,' he's talking to Americans that are suffering and have been for many years now."

There’s simple reason why Republicans have no alternative to
Obamacare. (affordable care act.) THEY DON’T CARE! another way to put it: THEY DON’T CARE! No need for experts to make excuses for a party that also opposed Medicare. Now they are trying to destroy veterans health.Clear & present danger.

With the latest mass shooting at Brown University, this might be a good time to mention that Bill Clinton’s assault weapons ban reduced mass shooting deaths by 43% - but after George W Bush & Republicans let it expire, mass shooting deaths spiked by 239%.

The word “hero” gets thrown around too often, but Ahmed Al Ahmed truly fits the description.

A good guy *without* a gun who put his life on the line preventing further harm and tragedy.

May he recover quickly from his wounds and be treated with the respect he deserves.

My heart is with 🇦🇺.

🤍🙏🏽🕊️
A heroic moment in this anti-semitic tragedy.

The hero here is a 43 yo Lebanese immigrant and fruit stand owner named
Ahmed Al Ahmed who was shot twice in the arm (apparently bt the other gunman) after wrestling the gun away.

He will be fine according to a relative.

Hunger’s whip: why connecting US food stamps to work is outdated and ineffective
In many parts of the country, there are new work requirements to get food aid. But starving people doesn’t motivate them – despite centuries of this rhetoric

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Most important point.
Buttigieg on Indiana: "The big part of how Trumpism works is to make you feel totally disempowered. To make him feel inevitable. And yet the clear takeaway from this is he is not unstoppable and you are not without power."

Note: Trump's plummeting rating on the economy has pierced the crucial Darwin Threshhold...the point at which his approval rating on handling the economy (31 percent) is actually lower than the number of Americans who do not believe in evolution (33-37 percent), the once solid core of Trump support.
There's still room to drop further. "Trump’s handling of the economy is at its lowest point in AP-NORC polling" apnews.com/article/trum...

With CUSMA negotiations w/Canada & Mexico, as well as the renewal of the one-year tariff truce w/China in 2026, expect more market-moving new tariffs next year.

It is clear: our health care is not a priority for them.

Appreciate the continued focus @atrupar.com's 'Public Notice' team on the overt racism spewing from the president of the United States. It is vile, Nazi stuff that is now permeating not just Trump's press gaggles but official US govt policy. More pundits & news orgs need to cover it, too.
New in PN: Let's call Trump's anti-Somali hate for what it is

It's not "heated" or "divisive." It's Nazi stuff.

Congressional investigations are likely the ONLY accountability this administration will face. Bondi won't arrest anyone. US officials can't be tried at the Hague. And even if we get a new AG in 2029, Trump is going to pardon everyone. These midterms are crucial for accountability.

Horrifying.
My constituent, Wilmer, was mauled by an ICE attack dog despite the fact that, as he has consistently explained, he was not resisting arrest or trying to flee—his wife and young children, all U.S. citizens, were forced to watch helplessly as Wilmer was violently attacked and dragged away.

Kressly: So let’s talk about the contagiousness of hepatitis B. It can live on surfaces, and it can be spread through touch—from someone who is shedding the virus to someone else.

So when we’re in situations where we can’t know 100% who is at risk, the right answer is to protect everyone.
