This.
So the driver of the truck that made a right turn and killed the little girl in Boise yesterday was arrested by ICE. You can imagine how the social media comments have devolved.

Understatement.

I'm happy to see Epstein as the top trending topic on Bluesky instead of Dancing with the Stars.

1/3 My favorite photo from last night, taken by Josh Packer at Falls Creek Falls in easter #Idaho. If you are chasing the northern lights tonight, try to choose an interesting setting. We are fortunate to have liquid water right now, which makes for nice reflections. #IdahoEscape

I did not have chatting with a co-owner of Seattle's Space Needle on my morning bingo card, but if you once owned an airplane that's now in "my" museum (and are still alive), helloooo!

Alt: A GIF of Lily Tomlin playing her character from the old TV show "Laugh In" where she's plays a very silly telephone operator. She is wearing a white shirt and red skirt sits and is sitting in front of a yellow curtain. There is an old telephone line board on her desk, she is wearing a headset, and laughing with her classic, tongue-out pursed lip face.

THIS! Calling my worthless rep about this now.
WATCH — @repstevenhorsford.bsky.social : “My amendment would redirect that $40 BILLION from Argentina to fund the ACA subsidies for two years… a far better use of taxpayer dollars.”

Why do we have money for Argentina while our own people lose their health care? How does this make us great?

We live in the stupidest of times.
Tonight’s special from the Twilight Zone: the White House now cites DoorDash for economic data—because nothing says fiscal credibility like fries with your forecast. What’s next? Basing GDP on GrubHub? Inflation reports by Uber Eats?
In this Twilight Zone, the data arrives lukewarm and overcharged.

Saddened but not surprised to read about a child getting hit by a car on Harrison Boulevard earlier. So many drivers pay little attention, drive too fast, or don't yield to the pedestrians they see. On the flip side kids can be careless on scooters/bikes, or assume drivers see or will stop for them.

Near Boise. We have a problem, Idaho #GOP.
These posts are frequent in my local moms group. Whether midwife or doctor. This is what OB care looks like in Idaho right now.

Any Boise-area bird lovers want to help me with my Christmas Bird Count zone on December 10? I could use someone who doesn't mind walking several miles on the greenbelt. We'll pair you up with another birder.

Honoring some of my ancestors and a sibling, aunt, niece and uncles on this Veterans Day. I also thank those ancestors who served in the Union Army and the American Revolutionary War. Hat tip to all of my friends--and those I don't know--who served as well!

Bingo.
Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

Told my husband "Do not leave leaf bags by the sidewalk on weekends." Perfect kick targets for the ruffians that walk by here at night. He didn't believe me. (And before you go all "Don't rake!" on me we leave about 1/3 of what comes off our 19 trees. Otherwise they mold and kill the grass & plants)

Bummer to read that SeatGuru is gone (not that I'm flying anytime soon). AeroLopa is an alternative for at least showing if your row has no window, but it has no PAX reviews or notes about seats to avoid. The good news is you can bookmark this archive for SeatGuru: web.archive.org/web/20251010...

Ahhh. It might not feel as good as that first shower and shampoo after a long wilderness trip, but my first one since surgery 6 days ago sure felt good.

A not surprising story by Emily Schwing with @propublica.org about Alaska's long-neglected rural schools. “It is a known fact that if you need to evacuate, you evacuate to the elementary school.” The problem is a long history of avoidance by GOP leaders and the voters who put them in charge.

I chuckled seeing these this morning, in large part because the pole is across the street from our Maga neighbor who got creamed in the recent city council race. I'm surprised she hasn't run her Trump flag back up her pole yet (she took it down when she announced her campaign).
