It's typically a morning thing, after sunrise. But people can also count birds at their feeders for one hour.

We can't rule out avian flu as having a major impact, either.

It could be impacting the quail numbers, but I'm not sure what other birds occupy that scratch-through-your-mulch-and-leaves food niche. Maybe it will thin the squirrel population a little! As for hawks, quite a few pairs of Red-tails, Cooper's & Swainson's nest all over Boise.

Hopefully the migrant birds are just enjoying warmer weather to the north and haven't been pushed this far south, yet.

They can definitely be influenced by a lack of prey. Fewer babies produced, and moving on to other foraging areas. I haven't heard anything about that, though, other than a general but startling population decrease in birds overall the past decade.

Even if it rips out chunks of drywall, that shit needs to go. I jut hope that the people who eventually douche that place wear hazmat suits when the time comes.

During my years in nonprofit management it was well-documented that low-to-middle income people gave a higher percentage of their income to charity than did wealthy people. Of course, the main charity recipients were religious organizations, but still.

On one hand it's too bad Idaho doesn't have the population numbers to support bullet trains to Portland and Seattle. On the other hand, it's good we don't have a huge population.

I checked eBird and not many folks have been out birding/reporting up there. Not a lot of doves or quail. Rough-legged Hawks are starting to arrive. A few Peregrine and Merlin sightings.

The most corrupt president in our nation's history. I am honestly surprised some of the other women haven't beaten the pulp out of her. I guess she doesn't have to mingle with the "undesirables."

This assumes everyone has a bank account. Millions of adults, especially Black Americans, in the U.S. don't.

Thanks! Sleeping much better this time around. They said I could take a sleep aid if needed this time, especially if I'm not on narcotics. So far Tylenol PM has been enough.

Yay indeed!! Time changes can screw up sleep, but surgery can be a major trauma on the body so who knows how that affects sleep. Thank you for the well wishes. Back at you!
