We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.

As expected, the @nytimes.com refuses to address reality directly, hiding behind vaguely polite narratives and the misguided excuse of journalistic standards to avoid political backlash. But just because they rejected my letter due to its blunt honesty, doesn’t mean it can’t be read at all.

I’m wondering if we have a ‘Kent State’ type event in our future, not necessarily involving college students. The sight of the American military killing American citizens would probably shake the country out of its suicidal apathy.
