I don’t really think that there’s any difference between calling human beings “NPCs” or calling them cockroaches or “human animals” or any other classic rhetoric of dehumanization and I find it pretty worrying that people who are otherwise concerned with respectability have adopted its use

*Trump* tribunal is more accurate, I think. SCOTUS has been throwing plenty of conservative, Republican-nominated judges under the bus these days.
After reflection it occurs to me there was no reason for SCOTUS to take the citizenship case and issue its ruling. We have had these injunctions for a long time and there were a bunch against Biden. Why now?
There’s only one answer.

Something that’ll never fail to bother me about the Supreme Court is that many of the justices proclaim to be faithful keepers of our history but then fail to learn anything meaningful from it. “I’ll talk about the ancient origins of habeas while also destroying its value as an enduring principle.”
