FIFTY WAYS TO LEAVE YOUR LOOFAH

Just slip out the tub, bub
Crush it with a handstand
That kind of ploy, Roy
Endears you to me.
Force it down the lav, Trev
Tear it into shards, pard
Defenestrate it, Mic
Hide it in a tree

July 30th, Milton Keynes Bowl. Supporting were The Cranberries, Radiohead and Sleeper. Not too shabby a line up.
The monster tour kicked off in Perth, Australia 🇦🇺 on this day in 1995. Where did you see the band that year?

Not easy to get to sleep tonight - have burnt the bridge of whatever career I had left and really don’t feel that my opinions are so extreme that that should have been necessary
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

In the 1970s, my dad had a couple of Wolseleys - an 18/85 and then a Six. These were seen as large family cars. Their external size (L 4.2m x W 1.7m x H 1.4m) was slightly smaller than the current ‘subcompact crossover’ Ford Puma (4.2m x 1.8m x 1.5m).

One of the best batters I’ve ever seen play in a golden era for Hampshire. I remember seeing him batter the touring Aussies at the old County Ground in Southampton in 1993, Merv Hughes and all - 191 off 191 balls. Just brilliant. RIP The Judge.

I know I’m a sentimental old duffer who doesn’t understand the modern world, but as someone who remembers the days of ATV, Southern and TVS, it’s a shame to see ITV succumbing to a US media juggernaut.

Fulfilled what has almost been a lifetime’s ambition today and got to see Malham Cove and Gordale Scar. Wasn’t disappointed either! Although my legs are letting me know I walked 22 miles (on top of 17 yesterday).

I don’t know the truth about Raynor and Moth Winn. I don’t know if Moth/Tim has it or whether he was misdiagnosed; CBD is hard to diagnose. However, I do know that the description of CBD in the book is terrifying and my heart goes out to all who have it.
We were shocked and disappointed to learn of the allegations made about Raynor and Moth Winn by The Observer. The article has taken everyone by surprise and has made people affected by CBD & PSP feel angry, let down and eager for clarity. Full statement: www.pspassociation.org.uk/news/pspas-r...

First read this book at university - it was a set text. Must find my copy and re-read it.
"My father was not prepared for such a fate. He had been the spoiled darling of the public, the constant favourite of the press, and now, like the dark angels of old

'so huge a rout
Encumbered him with ruin.'

He could not recover from amazement at having offended everybody..."

THE NEW STATESMAN: A profound farewell: Reflections on loss, love, and the legacy of a father who defined coolness and shaped a daughter’s world.

- by Pippa Bailey
My dad was that thing every child wishes their parents could be: cool
He did not want emotional, protracted goodbyes, and so we did not say any.
