Just sharing the special pics I take around town of all my feathery friends
this post and it’s replies are maybe the last nail in the coffin for why you shouldn’t trust ai…chatbots clearly have never watched Michael Clayton!
thank you, google

I honestly believe AI will allow for everyone to develop their own individual cult of personality
there are people that use ai chatbots that talk about how they resonate with the personality of the ai and it’s so baffling to me. it feels like every ai chatbot convo i see is so clearly not human and does not speak like a human, i just don’t get the appeal at all

Invest in physical media, kids
Wait...

Hold up...

The 1999 box office smash hit "The Mummy" isn't on any streaming services?

Tony Sopranos, Don Draper and the rest of their ilk where just a bunch of heroic dudes who were constantly growing and changing while battling cataclysmic events, and making me more than ever want to be a misogynistic mob boss or misogynistic 60s ad men!
Imagine walking into an established writers room with a list this vague and acting like you just saved TV.

I can't top this one.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

i have like no followers, and i think social media is in general bad, but the last two weeks have been one big doom scroll. I am spending less time on site but i also just want to communicate gratitude and positive thoughts i have to combat the doomerism so with that said...

After the year of McCarthyism that we’ve seen, I have to entertain the idea that Kneecap got left off the Oscars shortlist because they would have used the platform for Palestine

David Lynch saw the real horror in American Life behind the white picket fence and his movies are dark and sinister, but they are never cynical. In fact we have to spite that darkness with the kindness, decency, and earnestness that we have all forgotten. He was such a hopeful person

If I had a dime each time Guillermo del Toro made a movie about a classic tale of a man turning the inanimate into a living person the same year another studio released a movie readapting the early Hollywood version of the same story…I’d have only have two dimes but it’s weird it happened twice.

I have so many more pics from this year but I’m going to leave it with the these two of my favorite bird I saw in 2024

And then you start packing your camera for travels and Google how to pack a camera for a flight to South Africa and even though most blogs tell you not to…I just don’t think the appreciate my dedication to capture the wonders of birds

And here’s the dirty little secret most bird photographers will never tell you…most of our pics suck. Where it’s the lighting, distance, birds flying away before getting the shot or some combination of them. Go through unculled camera rolls and witness the horror of never shared photos

And when people learn you are into birding they sometimes tell you about the rare birds near their homes like a coworker of mine who gave me a heads up about these Merlins across the street from her apartment

I hit the spring running taking my camera with me on every walk, hike, or outdoor outing and sometimes you can’t grab a good pick any birds but you’ve learned to stop and see more of what is around you

I eventually left the porch and went strolling in the park by my house and learned there is nothing more satisfying or as lucky as catching a pic of a bird in flight

I got a canon rebel for Christmas in 2023 and spent the first few months of birding starting in the same place as everyone else on the porch or in the yard marveling at how wondrous the ordinary common birds are

I obviously haven’t been birding in 2025 yet but want to share a few of my favorites of 2024, my first full year as an active bird/photography hobbyist
