"the alliance continues to function"

There are literally troops in Greenland to discourage an American attack; and they were deployed only 1 month ago
This year's Munich Security Conference showed that while the U.S.-Europe alliance continues to function, the old order that bound the two sides for decades has broken down.

And there is no consensus on how the relationship can move forward.

Oh no, how will Europe solve the Ukraine war without the partner who has ended all help to Ukraine, always praises Putin and is busy threatening NATO allies?

As a scholar of Soviet espionage, may I say: Duh.
Epstein is being described by the Polish PM as a possible Russian spy. If so, it would explain a great deal. All the Epstein “evidence” would actually be kompromat taking in the rich and powerful to serve Kremlin interests. www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2...

Hello all, just sent out my free weekend update. A special one as it’s from Ukraine. It’s clear being here that we are all taking advantage of the Ukrainians. They are fighting for their lives, and we are safe and sound behind them. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

I am still baffled that supposedly serious media still report about the peace negotiations and the security guarantees as if they were real. It's like they are reporting about a rain storm when all they need to do is to look out the window to see the sunny weather.

Europe needs to be drip-fed obvious truths just as we drip-feed aid to Ukraine 😒
America has already betrayed Ukraine.

When you're surrounded by sycophants, listening to them gets boring after a while
Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.

The proposed ‘peace plan’ is essentially a Kremlin wish list with amateurishly formulated attempts at Trumpian grift sprinkled on top.

The only surprising thing about this - if you've been following events (and OBrien) and can put 2 and 2 together - is that a military organisation still uses the word 'flank' for its frontline

We've been busy donating to Ukraine and trying to rally support ---but we have probably also spent quite a lot of mental bandwidth processing the sheer amount of European naivety on display since November last year 😒
I just hope Ukraine supporters in Europe haven’t wasted more time fantasising about what Trump will do for Ukraine. This is now Europe’s responsibility

At least one thing from Russia that won't get through to Europe
By escalating strikes in Ukraine and now Poland, Putin is sending a message: He is not interested in a ceasefire, or in peace. He plans to keep fighting.

But we need the Russian envoys to deliver our strongly worded condemnations to! How else to make them tremble with fear?!
Don’t just summon Russia’s envoys. Close their embassies in the EU and UK and send their “diplomats” back to Moscow. That would be an appropriate response to their murdering civilians and bombing the British Council and EU delegation offices last night.

Extraordinary that this needs saying, much less saying again and again 😒
The fact that Monday’s White House meeting wasn’t a total disaster doesn’t make it a success. No solid commitments came out of it. And just yesterday, Trump once again blamed Ukraine for the war.

Until Trump actually *does* something, anything he *says* is completely unreliable.
