Remember when Aaron Swartz downloaded JSTOR archives that he had full legal rights to download and the FBI hounded him literally to death for it? Anyway,
NEW: Common Crawl, the massive archiver of the web, has gotten cozy with AI companies and is providing paywalled articles for training data. They’re also lying to publishers who have asked for material to be removed. “The robots are people too,” CC’s exec director told us when we asked about this.
The Nonprofit Feeding the Entire Internet to AI Companies
Common Crawl claims to provide a public benefit, but it lies to publishers about its activities.

I'm.. not happy, but content. Got it before he had a proper crisis, and in his last hours he had basically everything a rat could possibly want. Warmth and shelter, food, water and chocolate, pain relief and drugs to help his breathing and heartbeat.

So turns out it was O2 who put a ban on the iPad's IMEI, you know, the ones who told us at the store they can't help us as we don't have a consumer account with them. After fraudulently blocking one of our devices from accessing *any* cellular network. 🙃
Ended up going to Vodafone after Three said they don't do customer support in store and O2 said they can't do anything because we have a business account, and Vodafone helped us without even being a customer. They put in a request to get the device unbanned!
I'm having a problem with a UK phone carrier, go all the way to the store, just to be told "that's customer service mate, gotta phone"?????? That is absolutely INSANE

Under new head of Paramount David Ellison, the studio has drawn up a list of actors who opposed the Gaza genocide and will not allow them to appear in its films and TV shows.

Does this sound familiar?

Also, "Ellison is reportedly aiming to take over Warner Bros. next."
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.
