The purge hit the USGS today. I took the day off, but to the best of my knowledge I survived this round. At least one of my coworkers wasn’t so lucky. A bunch of incredible scientists working on what in many instances is life saving work are now out of a job due to political animus.

I miss the days when we South Dakotans were clowning her for having THE RACHEL in 2010. Also she didn’t have a college degree and SD taxpayers got to fund that, something that was clearly useless.

Impeachment of Trump et al is the Constitutional remedy for this ongoing coup against the legislature.
Why he needs to be impeached before he fires the generals. At the moment we (probably) still have a military that would resist him.
My depressing thought for the day: it seems increasingly inevitable that quite soon, Trump decides to simply disregard a court finding that some of his actions are illegal or unconstitutional. Impeachment is attempted & fails thanks to loyal Republicans. At which point there are no good options.

so if your household is dependent on the income from a civil service job my advice is to vote for the candidate who promises to NOT destroy the civil service and turn it into an engine of personal revenge and not the candidate who DOES promise to do that
