The planet has reached its first catastrophic climate tipping point.

160 scientists from 23 countries warn that unless global heating is cut to 1.2°C as fast as possible, warm-water coral reefs will vanish “at any meaningful scale.”

The science is clear: We need to act now.

@rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social this was a terrible idea.

Not only will the NHS struggle this autumn / winter, but people will suffer and die unnecessarily.

It isn't too late for a U-turn!

50% of UK electricity is made through cheaper renewables but we don’t see the savings, profits go to energy companies because the price is set by the cost of expensive gas. Sign this petition to ask Government to change the rules. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...
Petition: Ban cheap renewable energy from being charged at the price of expensive gas
Mandate energy providers to stop charging the same price as expensive gas for much cheaper renewable energy. We think they should pass any savings on to consumers, rather than keeping them as profit.

🎉Thanks your help, we've hit 1,000 signatures! 🎉

Keep it up - from experience, petitions don't drive themselves (unfortunately!).

If you know anyone famous who might help (like a Marcus Rashford - with a personal connection to the issue), try to message them! 🙏

Lives will be at risk. The NHS will face more pressure. Covid is as serious as 'flu and also requires updated seasonal vaccines.

Now 99 universities officially making redundancies, and I've heard of a few more to take us over the 100 mark. If I were a student, I'd be 'shocked and offended' by that more than anything else. Still nothing is done. qmucu.org/qmul-transfo...

They say it can’t be done, but here we are, California is generated 106% of California’s entire state electricity demand from renewables.

California has a population bigger that 154 other countries around the world. It’s the 4th largest economy, in the world.

Let that sink in.

It's utterly absurd that UK hospitals pig-headedly refuse to act to prevent airborne infections even when being overwhelmed by them, causing avoidable deaths & disability. Petition closes 11 May. It needs 10,000 signatures for a Government response. Currently around 7,000. If in the UK PLEASE sign🙏
