C. 2001 a 17 year-old Seán took a punt on this CD by Morton Feldman, and things began to open up…

Since then the composers I’ve gravitated towards (older & younger) have some place reserved for Feldman in their hearts…

Morton Feldman’s centenary today… a composer that changed (and continues to form) the way I think about music. The world is a richer place for his work.

Pieces like for Philip Guston, second string quartet, Coptic Light, Piano & Orchestra etc. still devastate me… Fair play…

writing poetry has given me so much experience making stuff no one is going to look at and no one thinks is really worth thinking about. I encourage everyone to work in discarded, "abdandoned", neglected, "low", "unimportant", "irrational" forms, media, etc.; it is liberating, educational, useful
