This bothers me more and more as I get older. It is so normal to change our minds when we encounter new information. Everyone’s so scared of being a little embarrassed at not knowing, but it’s fine and normal to not know everything.
I am frankly sick of all the people who insist “so and so seemed off from the start.”

This bothers me more and more as I get older. It is so normal to change our minds when we encounter new information. Everyone’s so scared of being a little embarrassed at not knowing, but it’s fine and normal to not know everything.
Kinda felt like molten trash soup yesterday during my actual birthday, but luckily today I am well enough to celebrate the only way I know how: with my annual rewatch of Catwoman (2004).

Trying to conserve phone battery but I needed to check in to share that this tour guide decided to have a Swastika Segment and the commentary was Not Good
Four hours into a twelve-hour tour and our driver/tour guide has been spending about half of it prefacing comments with “not to be a conspiracy theorist” and “subtly” pushing conservative talking points.

I still haven't read all my 2024 SBCF comics, but I prioritized reading the remaining ones who have artists also exhibiting in this year's, and I'm so glad I did!

it's also never lost on me when stories that "suspend" the realities of what queer people face also erase the queer people more visibly impacted and shaped by structures being ""erased""
honestly I can't connect emotionally to stories with no hint of the reality we live with. and listen: that's coming from someone who literally wrote one lmfao

there was a long time where I thought I would never write queer tragedy because it was all we had, but I'm feeling expansive and chafing against the idea that I'm betraying my community by accessing the full spectrum of human feeling and pain

tbh I don't think this is that niche but man we gotta make LIVING accessible for people who don't have smart phones and/or data. I'm talking bus schedules, restaurant menus, doing your laundry, accessing social security and unemployment, all of it. we goddamn GOTTA dude
