My office has produced a brief report that addresses the tax burden myths that are driving the current push to halt the Preschool for All revenue collection. Credit goes to my Senior Policy Advisor and Chief Economist Dr. Erik Dean. Bottom line: taxes are not driving people out of the county 🧵

If you live in Oregon you gotta push our legislators to fund transit and not cut service. In 5 years you’ll wish you’d said something 🙁

I also offered an amendment to add $1.5 million for the James Beard Market to ensure that it opens on schedule next spring. That will catalyze our downtown recovery, which will give our city a much-needed economic boost and supports general fund revenue. Plus, I want to eat there!

Beside the point but basically no one in the U.S. is meaningfully punished for traffic violations, even when they kill people. An immigrant who harmed no one is getting deported to a concentration camp while the guy who killed my toddler is punished with a ticket and fine.
JD Vance claims the Maryland father the Trump administration mistakenly deported to a slave prison in El Salvador wasn't "father of the year" bc he had "traffic violations," and says "we do not ask permission from far left Democrats before we deport illegal immigrants."
