Oligarchy (noun):

A government of and by a few at the top, who exercise power for their own benefit. Their power and wealth increase as they make laws that favor themselves, manipulate financial markets, and create monopolies that put more wealth into their pockets.

Donald Trump is showing us what's possible.

Anything is possible.

The president can send troops into cities.

The president can make $5 billion off of crypto in plain sight.

The president can tear down an entire section of the White House and build an Epstein ballroom.

I spoke in Indiana days before the Republicans refused Trump’s gerrymandered map. Everyone I talked to said the Rs weren’t going to pass the map.

Know why?

He threatened them. Even Republicans are tired of that shit. You’re going to see more of it too. Mark it. The fever is breaking.

Tyson is shutting down its Lexington, Nebraska plant in January 2026. That’s 3,200 workers gone in one shot, the largest plant shutdown in company history.

Blame Trump’s tariff chaos and the lowest cattle inventories in decades. Tariffs jack up costs. Supply shrinks. Plants close. Towns hollow out.

"The fact that Mr. Ohtani has taken a position with the Dodgers, while Mr. Miller, born and raised in southern California, was not even afforded an opportunity to compete for the job underlines the blatant nature of the discrimination against native-borns."
The Stephen Miller-founded group had filed a similar complaint against the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this year over its DEI commitments. The Dodgers have not responded to the complaint nor changed their DEI web page. The Dodgers went on to win the World Series.

We who grew up in the postwar era in the 20th century came to believe that democracy and freedom were inevitable.

We were wrong.

If we are to preserve our experiment in self-governance, we have to bend that arc of justice ourselves.
