One day when im in the mood for a bunch of people to get mad at me, I'll explain my belief that not everyone can be an artist, and that the sentiment has probably done more damage than good
Now this strikes me as being insanely elitist and gatekeepy. Anyone can be an artist bc art is at it's most fundamental level simply an intentionally created aesthetic object or experience.

It's really easy to find these kinds of posts (often from people invested in making AI 'work') and get upset/beaten down by them. But, I think anyone who makes art, or even cares about it, needs to be so much more aggressive with pushing back if we stand a chance of making art win
Saw a post today that advised writers to stop writing as if a human will read it and start writing for an LLM that will be summarising.
As someone who really enjoyed trying to develop a peculiar but readable authorial voice, I find this incredibly depressing.

Remarkably simple solution. If you don't want the backing of the far-right for your immigration policy, or to have people point out that you have their backing, don't base your immigration policy on the far-right's rhetoric and ideology.

Not a culture critic by any means but I feel like the whole “Sydney sweeney flopped because she’s right wing” is sort of over egging it. Feels more like the right co-opting her mostly because of her body and what they feel it represents, has affected her cultural standing
