Never figured this DOGE thing I made 5 years ago at the onset of COVID might have relevance in the future, and now I'm terrified at that reality.

Anyhow, hello Bluesky, guess I'm a federationalist now.

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

We are literally mad about your failure to fight the real dangers.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

"We're gonna have such a big fight about this in February if the GOP doesn't okay ACA subsidies" no, you're absolutely not, this was the fight you were going to have and you had it. No one will want to fight it again in February. That's it for the ACA subsidies fight (they were always dead though!).
November 11, 2025 at 1:44 AM
You literally just gave this away for a show vote that has already failed, what leverage do you have now?

It's insane to *have ever thought* that Dems could rescue the ACA extensions from the GOP after the GOP already cast it's votes on this 7 months ago, no one believed/believes this.
1. We need to fight hard for a good ACA extension early in December and hold Republicans fiercely accountable if they betray everyone.
November 11, 2025 at 1:39 AM
You know people were more aware of the shutdown than this vote though, right?
We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Republicans just don't care about your health care.

I mean, odds are he whipped as requested by the minority leader, right?
How does the fucking WHIP betray the caucus and minority leader? I mean, isn't that grounds for immediate loss of your post. You are supposed to whip FOR the leader, not against.

Number of goals achieved: 0.
IMO there are two legitimate goals to non-cooperation (which would likely lead to shutdown):

-Demonstrate Dem opposition & non-complicity
-End filibuster
November 11, 2025 at 1:11 AM

The Democrats erred by not forcing Republicans to nuke the filibuster. But there was nothing Democrats could have done to get the ACA subsidies extended, because Republicans control all three branches and strongly believe that only rich people should have access to decent healthcare
You can criticize Senate Democrats for capitulating but Donald Trump and Republicans are the ones destroying the ACA.

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.
