I live and work in Encinitas, and I like to talk about housing a lot, transportation and biking from time to time, California and Encinitas politics, and cannabis.
IDK, sort of depends on whether you think crisis can emerge from a long term trends, and how you define crisis vs tragedy. It's a big problem that continues to hurt even though interest rates have put a clamp on nominal prices.

Okay, seems like the real storm has started and now we're going to find out how serious this thing is. Really looks like a monster storm to me, with potential to stall and combine with the next front in an impressive manner.

For me the big shock line is this bit where she jokes about how perhaps she went professionally insane because of vaccines. It's a joke, I guess.

It's pretty out there tonight, before the storm arrives.

The lighting is better for sure, but regarding the addition of the stack to the aesthetics I don't really agree.

Á chacun son goût.

It would be much easier, politically, to preserve a smokestack than build housing, but no, it went when the desal plant and new power plant (which doesn't need it) were built, and it's good it's gone.

I mean, surely someone has commented on this.

I only recently learned that the entire "Shutdown" concept was some reverse-jiujitsu dem AG brained bullshit conceived in 1980.

Ah, the one sentence we all get to say to ourselves as the years go by.

"in ways you might think I’d have outgrown by now, I’m a fucking idiot."

Pretty sure the exit here is more like the cartoon character Snagglepuss, famous for his catch phrase "Exit, stage left".

I've never seen a person react less like a human being to any situation than Trump.

love the Portlandia small talk award show idea on this.
November 6, 2025 at 7:19 AM
The sound of a million DOGE CPUs overheating and melting at the phrase "Welcome to the transition".
November 5, 2025 at 5:07 PM
People hate diets, people love sandwiches, this phrase is everything.

Surf is good, the view from the coaster is wonderful.

I propose a compromise.

Maybe in Texas this kind of imagery is a net positive for your campaign, but in California you can run this image and generate 65-35 statewide votes by showing this, without batting an eye, probably still majorities in the reddest parts.

I think this underestimates the role that the media played in shaping the public's opinion on this. ABC was running "CRISIS AT THE BORDER" theater coverage on March 21, 2021.

Huh, I guess people have different conclusions about what happened back in 2022 still. Was the Inflation Reduction Act the Green New Deal, or was it a trojan horse for a Green New Deal, or who even did this? IDK, but this confusion is clear evidence that the propaganda fight over it was lost.

Damn it's a nice afternoon out there!

Riding the trolley highlights both the beauty and pathology of modern California.

NVIDIA is bigger than Microsoft!

This chart is fucking insane.

View from the Coaster is pretty nice today.

I am not a police investigator, but in determining how he was able to possess a gun which he was not able legally to possess, have they considered whether he lived in close proximity to one of the 50 "United" states that are known to be awash in guns?
