After 20 yrs tackling some of the DoD's toughest problems, I'm moving to Australia.

We're losing decades of institutional knowledge for no good reason. My colleagues deserve better & US citizens deserve better, too.

More details in my next post and more love & support for federal workers to come 🫶
@sydneyoperahouse.bsky.social Excited to see a show, great turnout. Just wish it wasn't "Is it fascism yet?" ☹️ Glad someone is talking about it, though

Just moved to AUS and found this fine fellow--a Maratus griseus, or white-banded house jumper, a common jumping spider in Australia.

My goal is to discover something in AUS. Not sure what it'll be, but this species was discovered in 1882, so I'm ~143 years too late. Maybe next time! #DiscoverAUS

I plan to post this ABC News supercut video of Trump calling Harris and Democrats "fascists" (and "communists"!) everytime I see a Republican on TV whining about Trump being called a "fascist" by the left.

Oh, the hypocrisy! Oh, the gaslighting!

So sad to hear that more senseless NASA cuts will affect gravitational wave studies, impacting the next generation of multi-messenger astronomy efforts--and everyone interested in this fundamental research about our universe. Congress needs to put an end to this nonsense!
The budget cuts would force one of the LIGO detectors to shut down. This would be a huge blow to the field.

And if these proposed cuts are implemented, things look very bleak for the future GW detectors (e.g. LISA, Cosmic Explorer)...

Absolutely inhumane. It's unconscionable to send anyone there for any reason. What a disgrace; terrible that Neri and others suffered so much.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." If only they could see the US now...
“They’re going to kill me here,” Neri Alvarado thought.

Alvarado was allegedly targeted by the Trump administration because of his tattoo of an autism awareness ribbon. Now, free from El Salvador's notorious CECOT prison, Alvarado wants the world to know what they lived through.

So, what's inside neutron stars?

We're not sure!

By using radio telescopes to time pulsars, X-ray telescopes to watch hotspots, and getting accurate distances of these objects, there are models (equations of state of matter)
