Just moved to AUS and found this fine fellow--a Maratus griseus, or white-banded house jumper, a common jumping spider in Australia.

My goal is to discover something in AUS. Not sure what it'll be, but this species was discovered in 1882, so I'm ~143 years too late. Maybe next time! #DiscoverAUS

Here's my neutron star merger tattoo, showing the gravitational wave signal we receive here on Earth when two unequal mass neutron stars merge into a single neutron star. Also, it's a ruler!

Its shows an oscillating red line running from the wrist increasing in amplitude as it as it reaches the inner elbow where it suddenly collapses down too much smaller oscillations. The red line represents the gravitational wave signal. The point of collapse represents the instant where the neutron stars merged. There is a black coordinate axis that runs along the centerline of the signal, also vertically. It is marked regularly at intervals where the red oscillating line crosses the black coordinate axis. The crossings are marked with hash marks that correspond to inch measurements on the arm, making the tattoo a practical tool, as well.
