Say it out loud and say it often:

"This is wrong"

1/2: We have reason to believe that events on 4/19 and/or the 50501 Movement may be misrepresented by the Trump admin in an attempt to justify the use of military force.

Let us be clear: our movement is pro-democracy and firmly grounded in non-violence.

You did it with the ACA, Roberts. Do it tomorrow too (all of you on the bench, on the right). Do the right thing.

“Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has temporarily placed on hold a judge’s order that the Trump administration must bring back to the United States a Maryland father it had mistakenly deported to El Salvador.”

I support and am happy the party came together to stop this.

However, this is what they should be doing on EVERYTHING. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it - we are in an existential crisis as a country. We’re either going to emerge as Americans, or as something else.
1. Today, Senate Democrats showed spine, and killed a national transgender sports ban bill via filibuster.

Not a SINGLE Democrat voted for cloture.

S. Baum writes about what happened today, including some of the speeches.

Senate Dems Show Spine, And National Sports Ban Bill Dies
The failed legislation reflects a wider effort to disallow trans women (or anyone suspected of being a trans woman) from women’s sports and spaces.

Pretty damn good framing for Dems
How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million.

How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65

Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

I know I've been posting—a lot—droning on and on and on about this very thing, but basically I'd like to second and amplify @willbunch.bsky.social's howl and add my own guttural screams. If this isn't rectified, these assholes will be able to do whatever they want with our money.
OK, "Reclaim the Treasury Payment System" isn't a great rallying cry for getting the masses out in the streets. But if you're in the media and not writing about Musk's ongoing coup and not screaming, "Fire!," then you are doing it wrong

Here's my howl. My new column www.inquirer.com/columnists/a...

Trump is wildly unpopular and so are his policies! All of the people currently bending the knee cosplay as savvy politics-knowers but it’s not particularly savvy to throw in your lot with an authoritarian criminal whose own voters weren’t informed about his agenda
Lots of wealthy people and corporations are bowing to Trump because they think the vibes are in his favor and will stay that way. Which means that when he starts causing chaos and the vibes clearly turn, expect a good portion of them to pretend they were against him all along.
