Here's why it's not always the best idea to file a lawsuit against someone unless you have absolutely no choice: The defendant gets to depose the plaintiff first.

That time the great Kathy Bigelow was filming a scene in my building in L.A. and she fawned over my dog while I stood with an idiot smile on my face b/c I couldn't believe I was talking to Kathy Bigelow.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

From July, but it's something we all need to start paying attention to as we build new relationships and audiences on newer and developing platform technologies.

Meta has cancer and its declining faster than anyone wants to acknowledge.

I didn't think I could make any 2026 search predictions until I f*cked around with Gemini today on what was ultimately a product I knew a lot about. So a bit of recon and a process more about experimentation than recs/discovery.

My prediction: Google will retain search dominance by way of AI.

I'd like once again to thank Missouri voters (especially in St. Louis, the most densely populated region in the state that generates most of our revenue) for not saddling us with this fucking debt.

This struck me too. As Anne Applebaum doesn’t mention, she wrote a classic history of the Gulag.
The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

Checked in on some of the profiles I follow (cc @quillmatiq.com) to get a fediverse update today.

Like of COURSE this is what those MF-ers at Meta did. Why wouldn't they do this?
Threads is effectively shelving their fediverse integration, after it saw marginally little use

Zuck has played the game well, harming both open protocol movements while growing his platform, getting good PR and distracting regulators

As frustrating as I know it is, I'd like to thank Missouri taxpayers for standing up to a billionaire and refusing to fund another stadium w/public funds that we'd never pay for in our lifetimes.

We don't get it right all the time. This time? Nailed it.

And I'll add: Bad for business.
Shameful.
CBS News EIC Bari Weiss had concerns about the CECOT piece, I’m told. The network decided to hold the segment pending, among other things, comment or an interview with White House officials next year…

Innovation requires feedback cycles and truth telling.

When you have a company culture that doesn't value true innovation and instead pumps the ego of its C-suite exclusively, you won't go the distance.

Zuck and company can't innovate. Gravity comes for everyone.
Time to escalate my calls: I think something is rotten at Meta, and they are in trouble
Facebook is testing a monthly $14.99 subscription, and telling users they need to subscribe if they want to post more than 2 links a month.

Broadly speaking--and it's really evident on this platform--people on the left who are the loudest about AI intervention don't understand it.

An uninformed public will never be in a position to demand regulation at scale. See also the rise of apps and tech mergers in the '10s.

Do better, Lefties.

My guess is that it will make the Kirk town hall look like a ratings bonanza.
It will be interesting to see what mass market there is for a televised version of the NYT op-ed pages.

Trump's disintegration into a dithering war hawk--while the America First isolationists who put all of their faith in him can't do anything to stop him--is the most logical evolution of a party that made up reasons to go to war in Iraq.

Where is Rand Paul's (for example) outrage, y'all??????

If you read this article (and you should) and your first thought is "Wow, Wiles comes across great!" then you're also the kind of person who watched Wolf of Wall Street and missed the part where a director indicted a culture of greed.
Some takeaways from the Susie Wiles interview in no particular order. 1) Before anyone congratulates her on telling the truth, we must first acknowledge that when it comes to the craziest and most unqualified cabinet members...she absolutely fucking loves it because deep state something something.

And they need a base that demands it from them.

The thing I knew would happen is happening. Advertisers already have to deal with brand safety on Insta (and have made that deal w that devil).

Why deal with even more brand safety exposure and buy ads on a sagging network only to appear next to an actual fascist?

Brands are sick of this BS.

Fine. But?

Predatory sociopaths like RFK Jr don't just think they're thirst traps. They need *you* to tell them they are. RFK Jr and Trump are exactly the same. You always have to fold "predator" into your calculus of both. Constantly parading their fake manhood in front of us for validation.

Disgusting.

Exactly. Precisely. 1,000%. Totally.

If Hunter Biden had blown his nose in a Fox News bathroom w/a tissue an ambassador from the UK or France handed him, they would have lost their shit for four years.

Nearly $30B in foreign assets to buy up a media conglomerate? Sure. NBD. Why not?
Imagine if Hunter Biden tried a hostile takeover of Fox News using foreign funding to get more favorable coverage of his dad. The Trump family is the most corrupt administration in US history.
Christ on a cracker. Can we please just play the "if this were the Biden admin?" game long enough to digest how corrupt this is? Please?
