Not sure why Bari Weiss thinks that burying a garden-variety interview with a Democratic primary candidate is good for business.

Your bosses are trying to buy another media network in a very public, theatrical way.

Anderson just quit.

How does this serve waning CBS advertisers?

Because this was announced with so much fanfare, I want to make sure we don't miss the outcome which is, to be succinct: NOTHING.

Reupping this because I just need to for my own emotional and intellectual satisfaction.
I am not an AI doomer. I think there are AI tools that will make it much harder for assholes like Brockman to decide who gets money to build new tech products.

That said: Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you, and fuck you. Fuck your company. Fuck your IPO.

I keep saying a version of this on here (and thx for the reporting!), when we produced the Heartland POD, we paid very close attention to midwestern MAGA governors. Burgum was a special kind of idiot as was (and is) Noem.

Burgum is a sycophant b/c he's a total a moron w/out any ideas of his own.
We're going regime villain deep-cut today with a look at Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. Guess what: he's bad, in all the ways Trump cabinet members are bad: anti-science, pro-selloff of public resources, and sycophantic to an absurd degree. From our friends at @revolvingdoordc.bsky.social.
Doug Burgum, the Regime Toady of Our Time - The American Prospect
Dashing the hopes of establishment Democrats, Trump’s interior secretary and ‘energy czar’ has adopted his boss’s excesses as his own.

But how'd he like the movie?

You know what fuckin kills me every MO election cycle MO? That Dems put up a slate of badasses to run for state House and Sen. Not all the time, but mostly. Impressive, credentialed, passionate, smart. And they'll lose to total fucking idiots b/c of dark money.

Kills. Me. Every. Fucking. Cycle.

Reminder that I had a podcast for four years that covered (mostly) leaders in MAGA country. We didn't talk about Burgum a lot, because there wasn't much to say. He's boilerplate MAGA.

However, when we did dive into stories about him, one thing was abundantly clear: He's a fucking moron.
Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."

The headlines about Bad Bunny's "woke" performance really makes me want to rewatch Kendrick, J-Lo ('member the cages???), Gaga ("This Land is Your Land" made me cry) and Beyonce where she straight up celebrated the Black Panthers.

Media? Your memory is garbage.

“Live or Let Die” has got to be the worst non-80s Bond film. Opening scene? Amazing. Then it’s just unfathomable cringe and atrocious stereotypes.

Oh good. The PAC that spend $1.4M to unseat Cori Bush has $193M this cycle. I'm sure that's great for democracy. Because nothing says "healthy democracy" like Andreessen Horowitz pumping $24M into a PAC.

I really just want this to hang in a frame somewhere in my house because nothing is more Missouri than this. A story broke a couple of years ago about the most conservative woman in the MO House--yep--who was openly having an affair with another married man. I think she was married, too?
odd feature of our time in how many liberals and progressive are bog standard monogamous family types--Serwer, Bouie, Hayes, AOC, etc--and how many Traditional Family Values conservatives are fuckin drugged up perverts

And now what remains of the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
"In this new Gilded Age, the Musks, Zuckerbergs, Ellisons & Bezoses haven’t just wrecked the news industry while enabling tyrants." writes @notaaroncraig.bsky.social. "They’ve crushed our collective imagination that we can have & deserve something better."

But there is a path out of this mess...

We are living during a time of the unmasking of truly horrible people. Shout out to @status.news and @nataliekorach.bsky.social for working your sources to get this story out this fast.

I really don't know what else to say. The Post is officially dead.

Good morning to the very good people of Missouri's first district. This was the last public statement Rep. #WesleyBell made about ICE. Anywhere. I combed through his social accounts as well as his official congressional website. He hasn't issued a presser *about anything* since January 9th.
February 3, 2026 at 4:48 PM
I double fucking dog dare these motherfuckers to do this shit in a Trump +25 county in MO, IN, IA, ND/SD, KS, TN, or AR.

They fuckin' won't because they're not even that stupid.

I just used Claude to help me define the costs of a viable creator-led video streaming platform. I've worked in adjacent spaces; it's not intuitive to figure the pricing piece. Meaning, even with my resources, it would have taken weeks' worth of meetings and online research to figure that out.

Going to keep saying these until my face fucking falls off: Hollywood until 2017, the Catholic Church STILL TODAY, the recording industry, the British royal family, prison systems, conservative evangelical movements.

Occasionally, we unmask the worst of them of which Epstein was one.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Rape and abuse are protected practices within schools, universities, workplaces, families, religious communities, and systems of power everywhere. It’s a global issue sustained by denial and acceptance. Only someone truly ignorant could think otherwise.

This is as brilliant an analysis as I've seen online about how "very online" famous people descend into MAGA. You could remove Minaj and add any "too online" MAGA figure on the right (esp. Musk) who used to be a Trump critic.

All of the people you want to hang out with in 2026 are in this thread, apparently.

You are all my people.

Thank you all for reminding me that I'm not actually nuts or losing it.

Staggering to see talking heads employed at legacy media companies address their waning U.S. audience like theirs is the only opinion we hear.

Creators aren't "new" media anymore. If you still can't see that and make millions working for CNN? You've had 25 years to figure this out.
