I don't know how anyone can defend this industry with a straight face anymore.
Netflix didn't ruin it. It's always been a horrible business stuffed with vain, amoral people who will do anything for money or glory.

This is about Trump, but the thing about pathological, malignant narcissists is that they're all pretty much the same. Literally ANY doc you've ever seen about ANY cult leader applies here, too. Liars who spend all their time covering their lies.

I think it honestly has to do with his pathology. He's a textbook pathological liar. He's cried "AUTISM!" for so long and made *so* much money his con, he's doubling down. A cornered liar is so dangerous for this very reason. He's a cult leader, essentially.

The fact that these studios have remained as is for this long is something of a miracle. And if you're that swept up in the "there will only be three or four companies left" vibe: You're describing the early era of terrestrial broadcast TV.

There are plenty of people of a certain age in the Midwest who still can't accept that we invaded Iraq on the basis of a lie. This is too nuanced of a topic for them to digest, let alone accept and protest.

And Trump demonizing the CDC throughout the pandemic. When you're not burdened with truth and fact, you can make up and then solve a whole lot of fake problems while the real ones get worse.
