Sometimes I think we over complicate the ideology and the politics etc. Everything you’re told as a child is that the bullies don’t win. Including, and especially, while you’re being bullied yourself. And then the whole of 2025 has been a circus of geopolitical bullying. So it’s deeply distressing.

Remember: the televised punishment & humiliation meted out to Zelensky just now could be done to any NATO ally facing similar aggression. The sense of sneering hostility & contempt by Trump & Vance isn’t specific to Ukraine.

Or in other words - people focus so much on the supply side 'lets regulate algorithms' rather than the harder demand side 'why do people want this and what can we offer'. The latter requires more soul searching and thinking, but ultimately meets people where they are.

Throughout the pandemic we heard a lot about how Korea did so well because "Koreans are more docile and prone to follow orders from the government." You're about to see why that was always such a stupid take.

Labour made fixing the NHS a priority during the GE. That’s why it's frustrating and disappointing to see some use the NHS’s challenges as a reason to oppose assisted dying

This is a pivotal moment for our country. It shouldn't be held back by MPs who lack the vision or courage to drive change

It's weird that Looking for Alaska is the second-most banned book in the U.S., and mostly challenged by evangelical Christians, because the novel is about Radical Hope and how forgiveness is available to all people at all times, which are Christian concepts I wrote about because I'm a Christian.
