This is going to be an unpopular opinion and I hate to have to defend a large corporation but equating Target and Amazon is why we keep losing. Target still does DEI, but not as much as we would like. Amazon is a legitimate threat to our democracy. These do not deserve the same response.
A grassroots movement is calling on all Americans to abstain from shopping at Target, Amazon, and Home Depot during the holiday weekend over their support for Trump's authoritarian policies.

I encourage you to join — and shop small. https://weaintbuyingit.com/

We are sending people for indefinite detention without trial at a foreign gulag because they have tattoos about soccer teams and about loving their mothers.
I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

Language used by individuals associated with the federal government who deported people without trial or due process to a concentration camp in El Salvador, defying a court order, has a specific resonance that, historically, has been used to change regime type.

My daughter's daycare just sent out an email about potentially needing to layoff staff because new babies about to start withdrew because of parental job losses. So if you're wondering how government layoffs and mass contract cancellations will affect the economy, here's an example

Sidebar on the Zelensky White House meeting. Vance is part of a group of men who bemoan a perceived war on masculinity. The thing they don't get though is that people still adore masculine men like Zelensky. Vance and his friends on the otherhand don't have an ounce of masculinity in them. 🧵

I thought seeing a US president ask whether we could inject sick people with bleach was the most horrific and embarrassing thing I could ever witness but here we are. Our allies don't need to thank us and a wartime president can wear whatever they want to our meetings.

Here’s a list of just some of the lifesaving awards that were terminated. Nearly all were Congressionally mandated. They’ve saved millions of lives. 🧵

I know this wasn't DOGE's purpose, but they have really highlighted what a great deal all these gov services are. Even if you take them at their word (and we shouldn't), it's really incredible how many 10's of thousands of people we employ, farms we support, etc. for a few billion dollars.

"Cuts have no apparent regard for civil society or opportunity costs or long-term strategic thinking. Their targets are Elon Musk’s and Project 2025’s targets. They have found no fraud, just democracy at work. They’re apparently eager to see what happens when it no longer does." Brian Barrett:

They did it for PEPFAR.

Now Ebola.

I follow this particular topic VERY closely, so here's what really happened and why this isn't true AT ALL...🧵
Elon Musk: "We will make mistakes. We won't be perfect ... so for example, with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled very briefly was ebola prevention."

Imagine if Democrats showed up to a clean energy event and brought a chainsaw to represent all the coal jobs they were slashing. Even if you buy into the idea that DOGE is making the government more efficient (I do not), are people not concerned by the lack of humanity toward their fellow Americans?
