In a functional party system, this kind of capitulation in the face of authoritarianism could mean the end of the Democratic Party.
In our system, it could mean the end of the two party system. Neither party can represent the pro-democracy majority. It's time for something new.

I don’t actually think AI slop exists. What we’re seeing are human flops. I shared this last week at the NYC Coffee Ops meetup, where there were plenty of hot takes.
Teams are adopting AI to move faster, but without clear standards, that “speed” is a rapid descent into chaos.

When my faculty union went on strike two years ago, one of our demands was for adequate counselor-to-student ratios -- and we didn't get it. Since then, the CSU has spent millions to embed ChatGPT in all our platforms & has pushed faculty relentlessly to incorporate generative AI in our classes.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.
