I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Hello everyone, I'm Helen A. Jack. I've had some short fiction published and work in myriad genres. I'm currently querying an adult dystopian fantasy novel. My current WIP is a gothic suspense centering around an escaped war criminal and his army of clones. It takes place in the Pacific Northwest.
Let's hear from you writers, tell us a little bit about yourself, what projects you've on the go, what you've written, any events in the near future, or just drop your bio and links and follow and support each other

Lohiri and the Iron Sun - that was my previous title before The Eleventh Key.
In your opinion, does The Eleventh Key sound too YA? It's a dystopian dark fantasy, but solidly adult.

Instead of Wasphole, we considered Scrap-Iron Crown or Base Metal Throne or something along those lines.

Decided against it because so many fantasy novels have throne or crown in the title.

Give us an alternate title to your WIP. Another title you considered, your working title, or a joke title.

Potential examples:
Of Mice and Men was originally Something That Happened
The Da Vinci Code might've been ScavengerHuntWIP
Frankenstein could be How to Make a Guy in 10 Days

Soon it will be NaNoWriMo time! The official National Novel-Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) organisation closed earlier this year, but the writing world is still hard wired to Nano in November, come what may. (What’s NaNoWriMo? A worldwide event where the aim is to write a work of 50,000 words in just the 30 days of November.) This year there are several official alternatives, if you like to be official.
