Social worker & think of that as a privilege.

I IMMEDIATELY block anyone who sends a DM, unless we know each other already. :-)
I have nothing to add to #duvetknowitschristmas because our lurgies mean that we’re at home (aged parents didn’t want the infection which is fair enough) so we’re cosy in our lovely bed! Last year we were in Lanzarote so I feel we’re really not trying hard enough @rhodri.biz

Dear legal people
Does anyone know a good ISW who could do an SGO assessment in the middle of the country? I am doing research but thought I’d ask here & on twitter too.

I suspect the 'Gregg effect' will have the same lasting renown as the 'Streisand effect'. In this case being 'defending yourself on the internet by confirming that you are exactly the kind of person who would be accused of such things in the first place'.

Films I watched in 2024, what will hopefully be a very long thread. 1) One Night in Miami. God this is a terrific film. A flawless example of how to adapt a stageplay, in that it doesn’t feel remotely stagey. [Criterion Collection BluRay]

You have to admire Nigel Farage - who else would have the nerve to pretend to be the defender of farmers, after selling their whole industry down the river with his Brexit shitshow.

America keeps encouraging the worst people on Earth—and they keep showing us why they should never be encouraged. I hate how stupid America is for coddling these people who should in fact be cowering in the shadows as the antisocial, morally decrepit, intellectually troglodytic vile bigots they are.
A wave of offensive text messages and emails has gone out to Hispanic and LGBTQ people in recent days, according to the FBI, coming on the heels of a barrage of racist texts that were sent to Black people in the wake of the election.
New Wave of Offensive Texts Targets Hispanic and L.G.B.T.Q. People
The F.B.I. is investigating messages that told people they would be deported or transported to a “re-education camp.” They came after racist texts were sent to Black people.

Fab thread 🧵
Morning! In the spirit of igniting a little Sunday legal joy and building some foundations in this new world, I would please like your most embarrassing court moments.

No holds barred. Full disclosure. Nothing, if you will, but the truth.

I’ll go first:

Now we’re calling it X

Elon will be gutted!
Badenoch arriving is the clearest evidence yet of a change in the centre of gravity online. I know some people will hate it. But if you want to replace X, it's going to involve the leader of the opposition being here.

I've said it before, but on account of I cannot shut up, I will say it again:

If you wonder why profiles are littered with reposts here it is because there's no algorithm. You must share the thing for others to see the thing.

So if you really like it, or want to support it, repost it.

So how do you re-name and re-brand an entire operational urban rail network?

30 years ago I directed BATMAN: KNIGHTFALL, BBC Radio 1's 1st drama serial - 65 x 3'00 episodes, played between pop records with 10x our budget. The late Bob Sessions was a fantastic Batman (without the 'Keaton growl') + Michael Gough was Alfred (as in the 90s movies). Our audience loved it, hurrah.

Dude, you said the quiet part VERY loudly.

👏
every one of those op-ed columnists has spent years building up a follower list on twitter, many of whom left, and so they are angry because you owe them your attention ad to help them get paid, your entire existence is to facilitate their need to put in as little effort as possible, know your place
Step 1: Elon takes over Twitter, unbans and amplifies the worst white nationalist posters, methodically turns it into a right wing echo chamber.

Step 2: Users who aren’t white nationalists or MAGA extremists leave for Bluesky en masse.

Step 3: op-ed columnists fret, “is Bluesky an echo chamber?”
