Do you like #horror, #darkfantasy, epic tales of terror and dread? Perhaps words you have to look up the definition of (perse is a color I swear)? How about characters almost constantly in peril? Blood-sucking trees? Hungry shadows?

So no touching, no teasing, no acknowledging at any point that what hung between his thighs was there. The corrupter at his back, however, did touch. With leash taut, wrapped tight around her fist, she set her other firmly on his thigh and bent to cover him. To lick and nibble his ear as she ran her hand higher, sliding to tease above the white lace panties she'd put him in. Groping, stroking, ever careful to keep above the cotton and lace.

Day in and day out Ignatius walked highways and old country roads and hidden back streets, all connected, all traveled by various fiends and friendlies alike. Despite said highways connecting all the world, he was relegated to those in the United States, which he found especially cruel on Melodia's part. For it meant boundaries. A cage. Ignatius didn't care for cages. As for the highway itself well, that he quite enjoyed. Few could walk them as he could, that was a gift for demons...and cats... ghosts... vampires and once he swore he saw mothman. Humans, however, could not perceive the connected nature of the lonely roads. They merely traveled them in their own time and place while Ignatius watched all of them at once, waiting for the red glow of listed sin to call him. A list. There was always a list. None may take a soul without a mark and Ignatius' job was to mark souls tainted by lust. Not any lust, mind, most were safe to pursue their desires freely, but if they harmed another in the process... A list. A never-ending list. With their sin glowing so bright he could spot them a mile away. Precisely one mile. One burning at him as he lamented his new position, and the ones the approaching soul would surely insist he take. One simply listed as 'killer'. It was bloodied, that soul. Leaking out of the battered station wagon in dark, wicked reds, staining the asphalt behind it.

I think they'll understand why they did what they did and hope they'll be able to figure out what they'd do after the story is done with them. There will always be some mystery, I'm not big on explaining everything, but I do love diving into characters so I assume they'll know *most* there is to.

i know i've been pretty quiet but here's the result of my January: a totally handmade, fully-functional marionette created for a local winter-themed puppet show. she's called the Winter Maw & she'll eat you alive, just like real winter

An amorphous, starving collection of shadows, eyes and teeth is the primary villain. A few have said they quite like them.

Parnamyr; antagonist, protagonist and constant pain in my ass, should not be likeable but the fact he is proves I've found my readers.

I have 'dead' in #WakeandGlaer which I am definitely writing, #WIPSnips. I am not dealing with brainworms eating all my words at all.
Clenching paws and glaring at the palm, Faerai shook and she shouted, "How! How we help any when we--we fail! Always we fail!" Another ripple, another wrack of agony through Its frame, and Faerai was gifted the sight of another skeletal hand. An impossible hand as the Watcher rose a single finger to one of Its eyes. WEAVER HOLDS THREAD OF HER BLOOD. TRAVELS WITH FLECK OF HER BONE. The finger stabbed, pinching all others for the pain, and Faerai fell back on her tails in shock as cyan too bright filled her vision. A flood of hot Breath, swirling to ice only to sear again, stabbed through her eye, into her skull, where it shivered through every fleck of bone and blood and puffed out of her throat as glittering breath. Ozma rippled and spiked as its charge collapsed but it could only hold her in its shadows, could keep her from falling from the palm. While the Watcher shuddered every tree, every blade of grass, every wayward dead yet wandering in the Darklands with an echoed wail. NOW HAVE AN EYE OF HER BODY, It explained, certain she would hear through the agony. Curling fingers to cage her again, to keep her safe, the Watcher did not wait for the Weaver to rise, did not wait for the eye to take, It shook for another starving bite of penance and lifted her up and up. Flapping long-forgotten wings It continued up, not losing a strip of what ate at Its shadows...Its bone, what remained of Its body. FIND HER BREATH. MAKE MOTHER WHOLE. THIS IS WEAVER'S PURPOSE.
