The world is one batshit crazy place. On one hand the head of health in the USA is rejecting germ theory, on the other, empathetic scientists giving agency to parrots asking “Would parrots freely engage in making video calls to other parrots? A: Yes! 🦜
Pet parrots were taught to do video calls, and it was a hit.

The birds not only made friends with each other, and selected who they wanted to call and when, but also picked up new skills from fellow parrots.
Good enrichment option for improving captive parrot welfare.

Day 2 of ignoring council orders at Kew pre-poll, and the Liberals have escalated - they’ve sent in Liberals in blazers to show they mean business.

Council officers are snapping pics. Hope the Liberals have budgeted for fines. Those fossil fuel donations will come in handy.

Over 20 signs so far.

Just found out that Berkeley is advising non-citizen employees to avoid travel and to essentially eliminate their social media presences. All of this is understandable, but it's heartbreaking and so frustrating that there doesn't seem to be anything that the university can do about it.

While by no means proof of alien life discovering dimethyl sulfide in the atmosphere of another planet is a big deal. I wish we lived in a time and place that this was the biggest headline, and most important news.

DMS or dimethyl sulfide is something most people have never heard of, but know it instinctively, because it’s the smell of the sea.
On Earth it’s produced by phytoplankton & seeds our clouds. Many seabirds, fish, turtles + probably whales use it to find food.
Potentially finding it in deep space 🤯

In last night’s debate Dutton sidestepped questions on whether he believed the science of climate change

Why wld he back science when he’s backed by Rinehart & fossil fuel?

We know which way Dutton will go. He will destroy renewable policy while propping up coal -as the QLD LNP are demonstrating.
