1) Who told you this report was commissioned in response to robodebt? 2) Are you aware that DEWR was forced to respond to revelations of unlawful decisions discovered by a welfare rights activist through FOI? 3) What gave you the impression this report about "policy", when it is explicitly a review into whether or not DEWR has operated the welfare punishment system unlawfully, and how doing so led them to unlawfully cut people off Centrelink payments, which the report confirms? 4) Did you actually even read the report you just covered on the public broadcaster’s flagship news program?

Hand-stitching a stretch stitch on rib knit fabric (for a skirt).

Not sure what to do for the hem yet (might leave it raw), but the waistband is getting a fun cross stitch-zigzag.

And then I'll dye (black or navy) it so the brown isn't obvious.
The cross-stitch stitching (a row of consecutive "x" s that connect, point to point) above a blanket stitch that fits between every single tiny rib of this ribbed cotton knit fabric. This is the "wrong side" with the top edge folded over and getting stitched down into place. The cross stitching and ribbed fabric stretched out between my fingers, showing that the stitches are flexible and stretch with the fabric, rather than impeding or resisting. The front (outside) of the cross stitch - a lop-sided zigzag stitch. The stitch progresses with a diagonal line and a vertical line that creates almost right-angle triangles all in a row (just not closed). The thread is a deep brown and the fabric is a marled pale grey. I'm going to dye it either dark grey or navy and the thread will also pick up enough dye to not stand out as brown. The raw edge of the bottom hem. This edge does not seem to fray and it is far more even than the upper edge that has been folded over for the waistband. The fabric is a spiral-knit tube of ribbed fabric, but the rows are not horizontal. There's something like 60 rows (alternating white and grey) spiraling around at an angle for each repeat, rather than the standard hand-knitting single row.
