ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

Aside from this being incorrect - the underlying rule on sovereignty and statehood is the Montevideo Convention, which doesn’t imply defence capabilities - this is illuminating on what is now pseudo-official U.S. policy: any territory you cannot defend is fair game for someone else
Miller: Denmark is a tiny country with a tiny economy and a tiny military. They cannot defend Greenland… Under every understanding of law that has existed about territorial control for 500 years, to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory…

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

I am also reminded by these graphs that the Norwegian word for a non-electric car is "fossil car". Perhaps we should all adopt that term, now that the short form acronym for Internal Combustion Engine is so strongly associated with something far more sinister.
As a Stockholmer this is not easy to admit but visiting Oslo feels - at least from a transport perspective - a bit like visiting the future:
- car traffic is barely increasing despite population growth
- transit, walking & cycling is handling all of the growth
- 95% of new cars are electric

Can't believe I'm here as a journalist.

I, (sadly) thought this stuff I studied was historical, like reading newspapers from WWII. But this is happening now, today.

Powerful Owlet at dusk yesterday in a Brisbane Park. At dusk it flew across the park to some nearby houses where it attempted to take a Brushtail Possum walking along a telephone wire. It missed, but the Possum and the Owl sat on the wire together for some 5 minutes.
