hello BlueSky, I'm back because the sadness and yearning season has returned and I need to express that somewhere outside of talking to people I know offline 🥹

This has always been EA’s problem: looking where the ball is now instead of where it will be.

The games that beat them aren’t marketing-driven. They’re designed by people who know the audience and love the genres. Perhaps- duh- EA should empower designers instead.

"By emphasizing trans people’s knowledge and lived experiences, trans philosophy runs at odds with much of mainstream professional philosophy, in which trans people are seen as politically biased or self-deluded as opposed to the unsituated, unbiased, disengaged philosopher."
A Brief History of Trans Philosophy
Philosophy has long been something done to trans people, not by them.

The concept of “Dark Academia” as a literary genre always makes me laugh. The bright-eyed, bushy tailed girl who went into undergrad has died, and a husk-like entity emerged from her post-grad studies. I toil through spiritual dread, and pain for my work; The only reward will be empty accolades.

May as well dive right in.

Did you know that dogs in ancient Mesopotamia also refused to drop the ball?

According to a Sumerian proverb, “The dog understands ‘Take it!’ It does not understand ‘Put it down!’”

Trying to tell myself this while staring at grant applications...
The most important thing in writing is to finish. A finished thing can be fixed. A finished thing can be published. A finished thing can be made into a movie.

An unfinished thing is just a dream. And dreams fade if you don't hold on tight enough.

So finish the thing.

The more I'm on here the more I realize how deeply I was missing the format of (old) twitter. It's something that seemed like Threads should capture but it just DOESN'T.

And most importantly: algorithm editing!!! The ability to taper your own algorithm is exactly what social media NEEDS in 2024!!!
