“English folklore, that’s hot!”

I choked laughing ENGLISH FOLKLORE AS A SWEAR? WHO ARE YOU?!?

Belatedly logging completion of The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R King for the Intergenerational Friendship square.

That gave me 19 books covering 21 squares with one lonely bingo, which I'm pretty sure is mathematically a record.

I had carefully timed a hold on Gideon the Ninth from @spl.org to come available shortly after summer book bingo ends.

But for some reason they just got 200 more copies so I may be giving up on a blackout. Oh well.

Pacific Northwest Nature square:

Puget Sound Whales for Sale: The Fight to End Orca Hunting by Sandra Pollard

Gives a good idea of the scale of orca hunting (and what happened to them) from about 1965-75. Kind of sensationalist writing style but still touching.
