Re-announcing my second memoir so I can pin it to my new account. Everyone act surprised. It’s called BITTERSWEET: A MEMOIR OF RECOVERY. It will be so good. Best book ever, some will say

The open secret that Thomas King is not Indigenous at all is finally verified, and honestly it's a relief. Having him just confess this instead of going out kicking and screaming like so many before him causes a LOT less harm to Indigenous communities.

It still sucks though.

Somebody tell me what to think about this Thomas King news

Connection online has rotted on the vine. With few alternatives, I’ve found myself more isolated than before.

Wish I could take credit for this banger of a portmanteau but I learned it from Liam Midzain-Gobin’s wonderful new book, Settler Colonial Sovereignty!
The last 3 days at #HousingCentral have been fantastic (although I must admit I’ve been a little distracted since Monday!). This morning we had a truly excellent keynote from @harrisonmooney.bsky.social with his great telling of Black history in BC, including his new portmanteau Hegemonologue!

We're grateful to have Harrison Mooney, author of the memoir Invisible Boy, on the #HousingCentral stage. Thank you for the unflinching discussion of your experience of transracial adoption, the complicated identity of governor James Douglas and BC's long-ignored Black History.

Big terrifying keynote speech this morning on my very personal connection to Black history in BC for #HousingCentral. Will I forget how to read? Probably not. Nevertheless the anxiety persists

Very excited to talk about words!
Feeling unusually Canadian as I head to YYZ to fly to YVR to join a panel discussing inclusive standards in the Canadian English Dictionary with @harrisonmooney.bsky.social

#VanRiseFC up 2–1 with just over 20 minutes to play! Captain Samantha Chang with a through ball to Holly Ward who goes on a great run before finishing it inside the box with a shot into the far side of the goal. #NSL #NSLFinal

This is such bullshit. Daniel Wagner is my hero and PITB is a Vancouver institution. Someone throw money at him RIGHT NOW
Yesterday morning, I was informed that Vancouver Is Awesome no longer wishes to have Canucks coverage on its website and that I, effectively immediately, was out of a job.
