The fact that we decided to create a category of ‘sub-doctors’ who are less well trained, less well regulated, and considerably higher paid than experienced nurses is a travesty, honestly.

We sent NHS staff into a deadly pandemic wearing bin liners. Hundreds of them died. Separated from their families for months, they worked unimaginable hours, and saw thousands drown in their bed.

And these worms DARE judge them for doing something silly for 5mins to boost morale and keep sane? WTAF

@rcn.org.uk
I was wondering this too - in 2024 non-voting members were able to apply for a £500 grant towards the costs of attending Congress. This year it is capped at £150 which has effectively put Congress beyond the reach of members. Disappointing.
@rcn.org.uk Why has funding for RCN non-voting members been so drastically cut? £500-£150. This is barley enough to cover train ticket & 1 nights accommodation. I know members who wanted to attend multiple days but won't commit as it will cost to much. You drop a day to save money, then cut funding.

In a note to staff seen by the Guardian, Deborah Turness, CEO of BBC News, says the corporation has been “defying gravity” in reaching audiences amid seismic changes in the way news is consumed.

We're backing a new Bill being introduced by Dawn Butler MP which would legally protect the title of "nurse".

This change would bring the UK in line with international best practices, helping protect patients. We're urging the UK government and other parties to back it.

The way to beat Reform is not to copy their policies on migration. Expose their lies at every turn. Tell people that their policies on a whole range of issues are unworkable and unfundable. Tell everyone that they want to do to the UK what Musk/Trump are doing in the US. #UKLabour
