My feed is dark, and full of horrors 👹

I promise that life outside my screen is pretty chill, I'm just extremely online when it comes to politics, and have a morbid fascination with the rise of fascism in the modern West 😅
It's 2021 all over again. Nobody will be held accountable, even if the Dems sweep the midterms. Nobody will do anything effective to prevent anything like this reoccurring, and these *demonstrably literal Nazis* will come back repeatedly until they've destroyed any possibility of future resistance.
WELKER: Massie and Khanna say they are looking at options including impeachment and contempt for DOJ officials. Would you support those steps?

KAINE: I think that's premature

This is obscene.

That others in politics can’t or won’t say that this is obscene hits at the heart of the problems we face.

We are the 99.999%.

Tax the super rich.

"It's just murder."
New in PN: A war criminal without a war

"We’re watching the flimsy justifications fall apart in real time. They can try to shift the blame. They can try to say that people clinging to wreckage for dear life are somehow an active threat. But in the end, it’s just murder."

They never, ever, *ever* understand satire. It would be funny if it wasn't so thoroughly depressing.
DOJ's newest recruitment ad features Judge Dredd, the comic satire about the dangers of lawless policing and authoritarian power

Evergreen headline tbh

A custodial sentence of three years could be absolutely life-changing. A custodial sentence of *six months* could be life-changing. The idea that we should scrap an ancient, fundamental right like trial by a jury of your peers just to clear a fucking *backlog* seems unconscionable, but here we are.

IANAL, but it seems to me that Trump doesn't have much of a case against the Beeb. He's sued (or threatened to sue) news and media companies before, but those were US-based firms over which he had regulatory leverage. Apart from the cost of the litigation itself, what leverage does he have here?

"Headline!"

"Headline again."

"And once more for good measure."

You think a professional news media communicator could do a slightly better job of using the tools available to them.

While the mainstream discussions are depressingly about *how* best to remove and stop immigrants, it’s a revolutionary act nowadays to say that immigration is actually a positive thing and an essential component of a thriving country, so please join me in doing so!

Has anyone ever actually received a notification email from @mtgsecretlair.com when a new drop goes live? I've signed up for every single one this year and hear nothing. Not a peep. Missed so many drops because of it.

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

Maybe the most powerful thing from @zackpolanski.bsky.social right now is seeing him not be afraid of the right, even when he is surrounded on all sides, it feels like. I think this calmness under pressure is really working, because lots of us want to be less afraid

María Corina Machado, the leader of Venezuela's opposition, has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

What an absolutely top-tier choice.

"Nobel peace prize 2025: Norway fears repercussions if Donald Trump not honoured in ceremony."

What an unbelievably dystopian headline.

We're seeing exactly the same failures in British politics right now.

"Perhaps we can trick the voters into thinking we're a nice version of Reform so they get confused into voting for us."

"You mean Reform are right about everything?"

"No, that's not what we meant!"

Fascismus intrat.
among the weirder Democratic tics is that it's unfair for their voters to have object permanence
Wow, recalling my political history, and in a time of strife. Not a good look

Americans I am begging you to sort this out. Your mad racist uncle has shat himself in public again.
Trump to the UN: "I have to say, I look at London where you have a terrible mayor -- terrible terrible mayor -- and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law ... both their immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe."

Trump is aggressively ignorant. He does not learn, actively resists it, and has surrounded himself with people who enable his stupidity.
