This affects you even if you do have insurance.

Hospitals are already closing thanks to existing Medicaid cuts. It's only going to get worse.
🧵 regarding the shutdown:

The Democrats aren’t being clear enough about this but we can be: this shutdown is about saving lives.

If we don’t reverse the Medicaid cuts (and the ACA subsidies on insurance bought through the exchanges) that Republicans made this year, people will die.

rewatching Disclosure and this isn't really the filmmakers' point, but i'm struck again and again by how queer and trans people have imperfectly but consistently practiced the forms of community that are apparently missing from this democracy.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

Fantastic new resource for librarians! 📚 And announcing free .edu memberships (works for faculty, librarians, students, anyone with a .edu address). My favorite thing is realtime RECAP search alerts (I have one set up for Mata v. Avianca, I know when there are new hallucination allegations anywhere)
Let's end the week with some good news:

1. Our .edu memberships are launched! If you have a .edu email address you now qualify for a free Tier 1 CourtListener membership.

2. We have a new guide for librarians so they can see all of our biggest features in one place. 1/2
