Got a lovely comrade card from @ladyofsardines.bsky.social, who uplifts a sentiment @prisonculture.bsky.social often shares—that we should constantly strive to reduce the gap between our values and our actions. This is such an important call to action in these times.

Have we really become so woke that we are no longer comfortable sending innocent people to die in torture camps?

Police don’t keep us safe 💐 we keep us safe. Urban planning has a long history of promoting and reaffirming white supremacy and state violence through assumptions about how safety is defined. planning.org/blog/9203853...

We can have free transit! Keeping buses fare free is also about reducing people’s interaction with police via fare collection. We will have more fare free cities in the future 💐💐
reason #21984545 to be against free buses: when you put 100% of funding into the hands of people who don't give a shit about buses, well-
These cuts will be devastating for workers and riders, and it’s essential to name the villains here: Kansas City, which has siphoned money away from transit, and surrounding municipalities, who refuse to pay their fare share for a service that benefits the entire region.

Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references.

It's brutal.

And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.

Donald Shoup is an inspiration! He made parking so important 💐
I hate to share the news that Professor Don Shoup has passed away.

He was so kind and generous with me and I’m so fortunate know that he was proud of the work I was doing to implement his policies via @parkingreform.org

We lost a great one this week. 😢

we need to make cynicism uncool.

like having doubts in your heart and being overwhelmed is one thing, but a lot of us got trained by twitter to post our most cynical snark for engagement and that broke something in a lot of us. (me included!)

giving up is not actually that sophisticated!
It is kind of hard to find out who the actual bad actors are and who are just lazy, cynical people who don't want to fight.
