I feel like social interaction *usually* consists of my saying something and then, increasingly angry, having to insist that I meant what I said and getting offended that people instead assume that I intended some connotations I didn’t intend and don’t even understand how they derive from my words.

It's weird that some biblical 'literalists' believe that evolution must be a hoax, yet don't believe the Earth is flat, even though a literal belief in the Genesis 1 creation myth implies it. Very selective beliefs, I guess.
