I won’t condemn Republicans who decide to turn away from Trump going forward, but let us be clear: Theirs would be no *ethical* repentance. Those with ethics would have turned long ago. Anyone now deciding to pull their toes out of the MAGA pool are doing so ONLY for self-preservation.

At least Dems got a ceremonial vote on the ACA subsidies in the senate so Susan Collins can vote against her party on that knowing it won’t pass but she’ll be able to run on another vote that allows her to pretend to be a moderate. The deal is an in-kind contribution to Collins.

I just watched Lawrence O'Donnell's defense of the Dem compromise. I agree with him that the Senate Leadership is a shitty, difficult job. I agree that it is rare a leader keeps his caucus unified. But I still say this emboldens Trump the bully, makes us look weak, & we can't trust GOP promises!

I get it. I really do.
Just be aware that most states have closed primaries so you won't be able to vote in those. And as you smart folks know, primaries are critical to weed out wackos and bad bills.
