I’ve been working on a theory for years that helping young people practice setting boundaries with the adults they trust (including me) and the boundaries are respected, that muscle will be ready when they have to do it with their peers, even when it’s hard.

I really hate that pedos and sex pests can basically never be punished.
And then the times you do make an actual improvement, the ceo freaks out about the change, and you have to revert everything because Mr $100m a year can't figure out a new button
I am increasingly of the opinion that people who change menus and look and feel of computer software just so that you know it's a new version should be personally forced to play tech support to my mother for five months.

Ceiling and trim are done, gotta tape so I can do the walls and be done! Hopefully I'll be able to finish this week by spending my nights on it. The sooner I'm done the sooner I can adopt a new kitten 🥰😺

November is the worst month. Thanksgiving already generates massive anxiety and on top of that every other year for decades it's the concentrated sex pests awareness month. Gee I love reliving trauma and seeing the same script play out. People don't give a shit about victims or stopping abuse.

At that point in a home improvement project where it's increasingly clear it will take longer than I expected/wanted and now I'm having to fight myself to stay motivated and still get as much done as I can today and tomorrow.

I've realized that small events can have a huge impact on me sometimes
for example when I was a teenager, my Dad took me to an outdoor art sale/festival because I was extremely passionate about art
I never told him this, but that was a turning point for me, and not in a good way sadly
