Poet, author, Patagonian alpaca farmer. A Wisconsin boy living in Chile between Valparaiso & Futaleufú. Please don’t ask about book #3. It’s coming. All llamas, alpacas & Icelandic horses are Green Bay Packers fans. No DMs. No porn. No crypto.

Here are the sights & sounds of Chile’s Futaleufú River for my new friends on #Bluesky #blueskysocial

This is Dalai Llama, our alpha. Not to be confused with the spiritual leader of millions of Buddhists around the world, our Dalai is nonetheless at peace with his choices in life. Choose love and the world will come to you. Choose power and you become like the current AG of the USA. Ouch. Not good.

When future generations build the “Museum of American Fascism” this carton deserves to be displayed.
History has a long memory.

People often ask me, “How do people make a living in Patagonia?” Tourism & farming mostly.

But we also have a local rule: if the end of the rainbow lands on your property, you get the gold 😁

We have a lot of rainbows!

I snapped this lovely shot of my beautiful daughter Elyse yesterday. We were heading out to serenade our Icelandic stallions Ori & Baldur. The river of time stops for no one, but, if we learn how to be present, we can carve out these anchor points in eternity that will live forever.

My keys to a peaceful life? Wake up at dawn, grind some of my favorite South American coffee—Bolivian Caranavi—stand on the porch, watch the first rays of sun rise over Tres Monjas, and enjoy the fact that I’ve lived a life that guarantees my name will never appear anywhere near the Epstein Files.

I don’t believe in the theory of Soul Mates, but, if I did, 2-year old Eldfara might be my choice. She is beautiful, powerful, graceful and carries the spirit of her wonderful father. In fact, each one of us is “whole.” We do not require “another half” to complete us.

Happier times. This photo is from November: tulip season in beautiful Trevelin, Argentina—a 40-minute drive from our farm across the border in Futaleufú. The mountains behind the tulips are part of Los Alerces National Park, which, sadly, has been decimated by forest fires all summer.

It may have been raining yesterday in Futaleufú, Chilean Patagonia, but I played Bruce Springsteen’s new song, “Streets of Minneapolis” to our Icelandic stallions Baldur & Ori and they are ready to go!

Advice from our 2-year old Icelandic stallion, Ori:

The same folks saying Minneapolis protesters are paid said Dems were drinking the blood of trafficked children, 1/6 was perpetuated by ANTIFA, and the Biden presidency was a hologram in a basement. Why be distracted by unserious people? Focus.

How did a kid from the North Shore suburbs of Milwaukee end up raising alpacas & Icelandic horses in remote Chilean Patagonia? This wasn’t the result of a single decision, but the accumulation of thousands of little ones. Every time we choose love over fear, we inch closer to our destination.

A lovely, but bittersweet sunset over beautiful Lonconao Lake in Futaleufú, Chile Sunday evening. You can clearly see smoke from the fires across the border in Los Alerces National Park, Chubut, Argentina 🥲🥲🥲

Breaking news: New baby alpaca born a few hours ago. So we moved the moms & young ones to another prairie so the big boys—male llamas and horses—don’t play too rough with the baby.

Please accept our timeline cleanse as you battle to preserve the 250-year old experiment of American Democracy.
