Happy departure eve to me! My MIL has been visiting and it’s been less than stellar, so… a typical visit. She asked me if I’m able to find shoes that fit my size 11 feet because “OMG that’s huge!” Later, as I weeded the yard while she sat and watched, she asked me what I was making for dinner.

I worked for an arch firm who has contracts with several NPS regions. 50% of their projects are government work. While they’re not federal employees they will be impacted by the layoffs/funding gaps. As will the engineers, contractors and suppliers. This is the ONLY trickle down that “works”

im probably just being optimistic but it feels more and more like this strategy of rather indiscriminately and smugly firing a shitload of Americans who serve their country and don’t do political jobs will probably just start pissing off ppl who don’t pay attention to politics.

Having worked in the private sector as a contractor for the NPS I have a lot of thoughts about the DOGEy crew and the weekend email demanding accountability. The job I had in the private sector was extremely demanding. Someone I used to work with called it toxic perfectionism, which is accurate.
