The magic of Iron Age coins.
Here, an enlarged Iceni silver ‘Bury’ coin has been placed to show how the image changes as the coin is turned: a hair curl in a 2D image becomes a second eye in 3D.

Giles' cartoons were always packed with action and chaos: the twins getting up to mischief in the bottom of the frame, a Santa toy wandering off by itself to the bemusement of George Jr, Grandma's hat flying off into the distance...
One of Giles’ many fabulous fund-raising Christmas cards for The Royal National Lifeboat Institution. His ambition here is remarkable. You really can feel how he loved & respected the cause & was determined to produce his very best work for it. As evidently he did.

An adorable #Roman shoe, made for a #baby too young to walk. The shoe imitates the footwear of Roman soldiers (caligae). The cut-out design would have shown off the kid’s socks!

Ghostbusters, Xmas school hols, late Dec 84 or early Jan 85, w/ my dad, Gisborne, NZ, during a North Island road trip.

Stinking hot in the cinema, the chocolate peanuts I had melted within 5 mins. Chucked them in the fridge back at the motel, a few hours later had a nice chilled peanut choc bar.
What’s your best memory of watching a movie? I’m not asking what the best movie you’ve ever seen is, I’m asking about the experience of watching that movie. Doesn’t matter if it was in a theater or at home. What’s your favorite memory associated with watching a movie and why?

The truly impossible thing about the Mission Impossible movies is that the Impossible Mission Force appears to exist solely to chase its own rogue agents.
