New rules in England and Wales,
including increasing legal test for use of force at misconduct proceedings to the criminal standard of beyond reasonable doubt, will make it harder to punish police officers accused of wrongly using force www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

We have had a report saying two women walking up to a protest today at BAe Samlesbury were stopped by Lancashire Police and advised to remove their t-shirts that say 'Free Palestine', as it may "breach the proscription order".

And so it begins.

Palestine Action has lost, meaning the ban will come into force at 00.01 UK time

The Lady Chief Justice said the High Court judge had not erred in law and had "identified all relevant factors and weighed them together" before refusing the delay

Culture: cops are all that stands between you and being killed by criminals!

SCOTUS: I mean if they feel like it.
If you don’t know what this case is:

Woman gets restraining order against violent ex.

He violates it. She calls cops. They don’t come by.

Repeat several times.

Eventually, he murders her and daughters.

Family sues cops, said had obligation to respond and failed.

SCOTUS? “Nah, no obligation.”

Lolllllllllll. Clerks deadpaning are hilarious.

On a courtcall waiting for calendar to be heard. Clerk is telling some of those online what the rulings are on ex parte applications. Clerk: Mr. X, your application is denied. The judge says “because it is incomprehensible.”

Is @bsky.app a viable Twitter alternative? Of course. It does well what Twitter does well and does many other things better. But I understand why we ask. What we mean is: Is a non-Twitter version of ourselves viable? Or are we permanently addicted to messy drama and ragebait? Can we change? Hope so.
