If I had my way on a NSD:
- Only where approval recommended
- Only where objections correlate with technical objection(s)
- Curtailed public speaking - local Cllr and Applicant/Agent only, with the Cttee able to question both
It's about getting the right plannig decision, not a popularity contest

On the basis that more often than not everybody leaves a planning committee at best dissatisfied and at worst bewildered, they are evidently ripe for modernising.
