Sir Terry Pratchett is best understood as one of the most interesting, deeply ethical practical (I would say Pragmatist but I cede to actual experts) philosophers of the late 20th Century who just happened to work in deconstructed fantasy literature as his medium.

I've been slacking on drunken Christmas this year. Only two sherries, a blanc de blanc, red wine and a sweet wine. I guess that's what happens when you spend it with Presbyterians.

OK, actually there are specifically two trains running in the whole of the UK today.

One is going between Heathrow Central and Heathrow T5, and one is going between Heathrow Central and Heathrow T4.

I booked for a boiler check for this morning, they emailed me last week saying they're moving the appointment to 1pm, sure fine. Last night, gone 6pm, they emailed saying, "we'll see you at 3pm." It's not like I have a job or anything. 🙃

Tribunal: *finds that Sandie Peggie harassed Dr Beth Upton*
British Press: Hahaha no, that's not the story we already decided we like, they must have said it wrong, we'll just say the opposite thing happened ☺️
#C4News went above & beyond, reporting:

"a nurse has won a harassment claim against Dr Beth Upton."

No she didn't. NHS FIFE harassed her, not Upton.

This is almost defamatory, & they mentioned none of the dismissed parts or the implications for trans women in SS spaces. I complained to Ofcom.

Went to carols with James which were linked to his college at Cambridge which were lovely. Went with his friends for drinks after. There was a random person who asked everyone what they did/when they went to said college. When I said I didn't go to the college, they then asked which one I did...

This is one of my favorite Taskmaster things ever and a great example of what raises it from a good show to a great show. There are so many clever and just very impressive little touches that are so go easy to unnoticed. From set design to music choices it all just works to elevate the whole show.
In S17 of #Taskmaster, Nick Mohammed dressed as a vampire for his tasks. The production scrubbed all his reflections when he's dressed like this, but the only way I knew is because someone told me about it. It's subtle and very cool.

The Labour Party is literally in government right now. They have a clear majority and could legislate to ensure trans folks are treated according to their gender, and ensure equality law does not fix people to their sex assigned at birth. They actively choose not to — it’s institutional transphobia.

Some British Indians might support Tommeh because they are Islamophobic gits who don’t realise that as soon as he finds a suitable bus he’ll chuck them under it, too.

But please, please do not use those unfortunates as an excuse to tar us all with that brush. Because that’s what’s coming next.

The class 465/466 Electrostar trains are awful. I see people online go on how they're great, particularly because of the motor, but the insides are comparable to a urinal in Soho.

Working within the pensions industry, we're already faced with the challenge of encouraging people to contribute into a pension. The Budget proposals likely means more people will opt out of their company's pension scheme, creating an even bigger cliff edge later down the line when they retire.
