Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.
Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

The thing is, we can disagree about all kinds of policies, and still fundamentally agree on some basic principles of government. I think many of us have rediscovered that, which is one good thing that comes out of all this.
What's wild is that I'm not only just as solidly progressive and left leaning as ever, I'm in fact more left leaning and progressive as I've ever been *at the same time as* I haven't disagreed with anything that David Frum and Tom Nichols have said or written in the last decade. Thanks, Atlantic.

The grovelling strategy, while imo justified for the sake of getting Ukraine patriots and the PURL scheme set up, always had an expiration date.

Agree that time is up now.
And Trump is weak right now. He just suffered a humiliating loss in Congress & the GOP was roundly defeated in the recent off-year elections. Trump’s approval ratings on the economy are dismal & SCOTUS may remove his ability to impose tariffs at will. Now is the time for Europe to stand up to him.

It’s not enough to simply thank our veterans for their service.

Millions of them rely on SNAP and the ACA.

Many struggle with PTSD and worry about access to mental health services.

Today, on Veterans Day, let’s renew our commitment to keep fighting for those who fought for us.

I predict when the damage assessment is complete, well into the future, espionage WILL prove to be Trump's greatest crime - the most catastrophic breach of national security in American history. We will discover he passed or sold secrets to Russia from day 1 - and to the Saudis shortly thereafter.

We're not at war with Venezuela, these boats are many hundreds of lines from our waters, much less our shores, there is no threat, this is just murder.

I really do think everyone from the SecDef to the guy who pushed the button should be tried for murder on this.
Don’t believe anyone who tells you that intelligence shows anything “without a doubt,” but even if the intelligence was water-tight, this strike was still murder. No law permits the deliberate, premeditated killing of civilians.

Deeply disturbing. The actions of a Politburo. Childish. A very dangerous mindset. Something very wrong with Trump and his inner team.

For whatever reason, I’ve never watched Jimmy Kimmel’s show. But I did tonight.

His monologue on free speech was well delivered. It reminded me of the MANY liberties we should vehemently protect.

Jimmy Kimmel was 100% right for stating the obvious. This wasn’t a joke or frankly, a commentary about Charlie Kirk himself. It was about maga not wanting anybody to point out that the kid who shot Charlie Kirk was from a conservative background. WHICH HE WAS.
ABC: What a disgrace. Taking Jimmy Kimmel off the air for this:

“We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.”
